Crisis in Levittown depicts post-war race relations in America. In the year 1957, the Myers family who was a black upper-middle-class family moved into all-white Levittown, PA, and was mistreated and snubbed. During that time, racial segregation in housing was very much well-known. The Levitts made a restraining agreement that only permitted houses in Levittown to be sold or rented to a member of the Caucasian race (Miller, 1958). They had a belief that higher property values were directly connected to the developments being all white. The Myers family despite the restrictive covenant had bought their house in Levittown, PA, and had to face violence.
